Definition: Error-Tolerant
We call our software “error-tolerant”, because even when you enter something incorrectly into the system, our software will still find what you are looking for.
Among other things, our error-tolerant software can:
- search for names, addresses, products, etc., in your databases
- perform duplicate checks in customer and product databases
- match data records, even when a unique customer number does not exist
This means that when you e.g. use our software in your customer database, you will always find what you are looking for, even when you:
- misspell the customer name (Craft-foods / Kraft Foods)
- rearrange the word order (Instruments Texas / Texas Instruments)
- abbreviate names (H&M / Hennes & Mauritz)
- make typographical errors (Dannon / Danone)
- spell names phonetically, not matching the way they are stored in the system (Michael Johnson / Mikhail Jonson)
- enter a personal name in a field intended for company names in the database.
These are all mistakes that are made often, and this is exactly the reason that we have developed our software to take these kinds of mistakes into account. This is why we call our software error-tolerant.
Omikron has developed and patented our unique algorithm for search and comparisons, called FACT – Fragmentary Alikeness Comparing Method.
